Payroll Year End
Being prepared for year-end in payroll will make your New Year less stressful. Inevitably, a few clients will call and ask how to print their W-2 forms after they’ve done Payroll Year-End Processing. It’s important to know once you’ve done year-end processing in Payroll, there is no way to get the W-2’s to print out of the system. You must print your W-2’s after the last payroll for 2003 and before you do year-end and the first payroll for 2004.
Year-end processing clears the data stored in the W-2 file. Once this data is purged, you cannot get the data back and will have to calculate W-2’s manually. Allow yourself enough time to print out your W-2’s before you do the first payroll for 2004.
Also, some people are not sure what forms they should buy. You can buy any W-2 form from an office supply store. MAS 90/200 form layout can be altered to match the form you purchase.
